Leeds Castle folks. One of London’s best kept secrets. This Castle is in amazing condition and the inside is kept to look like it would back in the 1200′s. As we walked around this castle you could feel what it would have been like to live like a King. To bad this was typically given to the queen as a present and therefore no King ever lived there. King Henry VIII did stay overnight on his way to Calais.
Hello my name is Feliz and I will be your tour guide for the evening.
Stonehenge is so much better to tour as a Gnome. No lines, no hassles, no cameras pointing this way and that. It’s perfect really.
I even meet friends along the way to help me enjoy the sites of the countryside of London.
Now where should I travel next????
Behind the story
My sister has been taking the travelocity gnome everywhere around London, taking pictures to make a wall of everywhere they have been. So he became my inspiration for the day. Yes not original I know but you work with what you have. We did however meet up with Snuffleupagus, who travels around the world as well taking pictures and touring famous places. The gnome was quite a hit and everyone was asking me if I worked for travelocity. All in all a very different way to photograph while traveling.
Meet Mowuli, he is 21 years of age and has been fishing since he can remember. He is the leader of 4 boys that get up every morning at 2am to go fishing. After finishing at 6am he then walks 1 mile to school. He just started schooling last year and is only in Class 3, in which he is by far the oldest in his class. After school he walks home, eats then goes back out on the lake to fish until Sunset. When you look into his eyes you see dreams that will never come true,
and pain that will never leave. Unless we can change that. We are currently trying to pull them out of their situation and get them into a proper school, a place they can feel loved and reach for their dreams. If you are interested in helping financially please email Thomas Woodall @ tgwhummer@yahoo.com

Meet Confidence he is 11 years of age and wants to be an actor when he grows up. He has a great sense of humor and always made us laugh when he wasn’t fishing.
I see so much potential in him, but in his current situation there is no time for laughing and having fun. Sure they find time between fishing, school and selling fish to make money they never see. But can you imagine if he had time to develop his talent to make people laugh. I don’t tell you this to make you sad or feel sorry for this group of fisherboys, but to give you a passion to see them reach their dreams. They need real education and a place they can be feel loved and challeneged to reach their dreams. If you are interested in helping financially please email Thomas Woodall @ tgwhummer@yahoo.com

Meet Wisdom- He is 7 years old and he to gets up every morning @ 2am to fish along side his brothers till 6am. Fishing for them is not a easy task. Their boat has holes in it and Wisdoms job is to have a bucket and constantly pour water out of the boat so they do not sink. He is full of life and wants to be a headmaster when he grows up so he can help his community. There are hundreds of boys just like him around Volta lake that do not have a choice but to fish. Jason Mraz recently went to Ghana and toured around to meet several of this boys. Check out his reason for being there http://bit.ly/9FDaDZ Please join with us and help raise awareness about what is going on in Ghana. With your help we can save this kids.

It’s 2am and these boys just woke up and are heading down a small dirt path with 1 small flash light to their boat. Upon arrival Wisdom grabs a small bucket and begins to scoop all the water that filled the boat over night out of the boat so they can begin to fish. Confidence and Robert begin to grab the nets and untangle them so they are ready to be thrown. Mowuli is patching the wholes in the boat so they do not sink while they are out fishing for the next 4 hours. Once everything is ready they push off trying to beat the other fishermen to the best spots for a chance to catch more fish. With Mowuli paddling and leading the way Robert is scooping the water that is coming in out of the boat.
While Confidence and Wisdom lay the nets down. Once the nets are positioned they head back to shore and begin pulling them in slowly so they can keep all the fish. Over the next 4 hours they will repeat this 4 or 5 times depending on how many fish they catch. After they catch all the small fish they head to the shore to sell them to the women that will then carry them on their heads and sell them in the market. The boys then walk 1 mile to school where they usually fall asleep because they are so tired from waking up so early. After school they walk home, eat and head back to the laketo do the whole process over. After they are down for the day they go home and give their “father” the $4.00 they made and go to sleep to repeat the whole process again
These boys need a place where they can grow and be loved. Where they can actually learn and not spend their entire day working for money they will never see. They each have dreams and so much potential. Right now we are trying to get them out of the fishing buisness and into a home where they can grow and develop. It takes $200 a month for housing, food and school to put this guys in a place they can reach their dreams. For more information please email Thomas Woodall @ tgwhummer1@yahoo.com.

Life gets tough sometimes, but do you have a place to call home that has central a/c and a comfy bed to climb into at night? Probably so and isn’t it nice to be able to make the temperature whatever you like. In the winter it’s cold outside so you turn the heater to just the right temperature and in the summer
[..]Every night they have to crawl through the holes into the room and get some sleep for the night.
